December 2019 Update

I’d like to thank 1800 Contacts for bringing a piano into work and allowing me to give a little performance! Thanks also to Steve Peterson who took this photograph! It’s really nice to play in public again.

In my last update I mentioned hoping to have an update later in the 2018 calendar year. Suffice it to say it took a bit longer. Treatment has been longer and more arduous than I could have anticipated.

Lyme Disease is a truly devastating condition that has stolen a portion of my life. To say it has challenged me in every way is a gross understatement. For those who aren’t familiar with Lyme or who are caught up in the controversy of the illness (which is rampant), let me add my voice to the voices of so many other Lyme patients warning that Chronic Lyme does in fact exist and steals a life long before it kills. It’s much more complex than most give it credit for, and the pathway to hope doesn’t exist for many. For those that do find a glimmer of hope, the path to wellness is long, fraught with grief, pain, and misunderstanding. Since the condition is so poorly understood, Lyme patients are often abandoned and left alone to figure things out on their own and often needlessly suffer and die. Thank you to those who have stood by my side. It takes a great amount of patience, humility, self-respect and awareness to deal with this unique illness. To be successful, you must face the possibility of your own death, the possibility that you may never get well, and that if you do you may never be able to do some of the things you love again. You must set yourself free, be gentle with yourself and accept your body’s needs and healing time frame. I have been through the trenches and (albeit slowly) am starting to see light at the end of the tunnel. If you don’t understand Lyme and feel you would like to, please take the time to watch a documentary called “Under Our Skin”. It will open your eyes to some of the facts about this great epidemic which hides in plain sight, plaguing millions of people around the globe.

Thank you again to everyone for your kindness and patience. I am still working on music every chance I get. I am working on a number of albums that will be recorded and released in due time. My highest priority at the moment is listening to my body, recovering as fully and completely as possible and keeping my piano skills up during the process. It’s not an easy thing to do but so far I am managing it well. I will update here when the time is right for me to begin recording again in earnest.

I promise…more music will come. My version of Yanni’s Nostalgia is still coming. I appreciate your suggestions. A few of them will be turned into videos in due course. Thank you to all of you who stand by me during this needed time of healing.

In the meantime, let’s all remember to be kind and do something nice for someone else, even just a smile or simple hello. The smallest things can brighten someone’s day. We may never know what it takes for some just to get out of bed and have to fight through each day.

I hope this post finds each of you in better health and happier predicaments than Lyme Disease or chronic illness. To those who are stuck in a less than desirable situation, keep going, keep searching, always question everything, and never, ever stop fighting for yourself. I wish you all a happy, healthy and wonderful Christmas season and New Year!

Be Well,

-Kevin

To My Fans

More than a year has passed since my last post. I’m sorry for the delay. Here is an update.

I am recovering from a condition known as Lyme Borreliosis MSIDS. The recovery has been long and difficult. I am making great progress, but still have a ways to go.

I’d like to say thank you to my YouTube fans specifically. During this particularly challenging time, many people are still coming across my videos and commenting regularly. I want you to know that I read every comment, and cannot thank you enough for your support! Many of the videos I have posted in the past were conceptualized or inspired by your comments. I will be releasing more videos and music as I improve.

I have written several new albums during this illness. It will take some time to get my energy to a point where I can realistically begin recording these. I also have more videos planned, hopefully starting later this year. The next one will be Yanni’s Nostalgia – as requested by some of you.

Please check back for updates, I will give more information as it becomes available. For now, I just want to tell you how sorry I am for the delay, and to thank you for your understanding and support!
